The Wig Exchange

Role: Intake coordinator and  a “Jill of many trades”, undertaking various assignments.

About me: I am married to Mark and we have three children and two Portuguese Water Dogs. I am a Registered Dietitian and enjoy playing tennis, running and spinning. Life seems insanely busy but wonderful!

Why I got involved: When I moved to Rye in 2012 I was just recovering from treatment for an early stage colon cancer. I met Sandy and was immediately interested in volunteering with SOUL RYEDERS and The Wig Exchange to “give back” after my experience. In all actuality, volunteering with the organization has given more to me than I could have imagined in terms of healing and being able to move forward after my own experience with cancer. I am so thankful to be part of such a wonderful organization that touches the lives of so many people in our community.

What makes The Wig Exchange special: I think the personal interaction between clients and Client Coordinators is one of the most important aspects of this program. Being able to connect with someone who has gone through something similar and has come out on the other side, surviving and thriving, can be a powerful inspiration and great comfort.
