Susan Marynowski
Role: Program Coordinator and Wig Intake Coordinator
About me: I am originally from Buffalo, NY (and, believe it or not, proud of it!!) I am married and the mother of one wonderful daughter (who helps me with the wig intake!). In addition to helping others, I enjoy sports, reading, working out, knitting, and relaxing at my cabin in the Adirondack Mountains. I love spending time with family and friends.
Why I got involved: I was looking for something with flexibility to get involved with, where I felt I could make a difference, and was something I truly believed in. The Wig Exchange provided the perfect opportunity to help others in a very “hands on” way. It also helps that I thoroughly enjoy the other individuals who are involved in this endeavor!
What makes The Wig Exchange special: The thing that makes The Wig Exchange so special is the people involved; from the volunteers/sponsors to the donors to the recipients/clients. It has become very obvious to me through communications with the donors that there is a GREAT need for our services and they truly are elated to be able to “pay it forward” and help others by donating their wigs or the wigs of their loved ones. On numerous occasions I have heard “thank you so much for what you do”. For me, there is great satisfaction in the “grass roots” efforts of the service we provide.
