About Me: I am married to Martin and we are blessed with 2 amazing daughters, Asha & Tara. We are originally from London, England and moved to Rye, NY in 2010. I was born and raised in North London but my family’s roots are from Mauritius. I’m now a stay-at-home mum, which I love! I am on the Rye Neck PTSA, and I run a Girls Scout Troop. My passion is cooking and my office is my kitchen with my daughters as my sous chefs.
Why I Got Involved: I was diagnosed with breast cancer January 2013. I underwent surgery, chemotherapy and then radiation. It was a tough year and I was lucky to have so much love and support to carry me through it. I met many SOUL RYEDERS when I signed up to do the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer as part of the SOUL RYEDERS Team. Honestly, I was so nervous when I went to the initial meeting at Sandy Samberg’s home to meet the team of walkers. The group of ladies I met introduced themselves through tears and laughter and I felt I had an immediate connection with this group. Everyone was so welcoming, driven and full of love.
What makes the Wig Exchange Special: As a survivor who has been through the process of losing my hair and choosing a wig, scarves and hats to get me through those dark days I know exactly how my clients are feeling. It is wonderful to meet someone who is able to take you through such a sensitive and emotional experience. It is fulfilling to me and I have met some amazing women through it
